Building an Atlantis or Heron is, of course, a custom event. We will work with you to create the perfect bike for your needs. The Atlantis is the most versitile bike we have ever seen. It can be a full on mountain bike, a road bike, touring bike, a city commuter or any combination. Herons make very sensible road or touring bike. With that said, the bike can be as expensive as you like. There is however a minimum quality level we work with. For example, there is no sense trying to save money on key components like the crank or handlebars and stem, but you can save money on wear parts like the bottom bracket and hubs, with the thought of replacing later with better quality.
The above spec. sheet keeps that in mind. The complete bike above is about $2,200 to $2,500
For those that want integrated shift/brake levers, we recommend Campagnolo Veloce or Centaur ErgoPower. It is the best value we have found. Campy shifters are completely rebuildable whereas Shimano STI is not serviceable at all! We have a sample of a Shimano shifter, quite new but out of warranty that had a small broken washer. The customer had to buy an entirely new shifter because parts are not available. We still regularly rebuild 10 year old Campy shifters into new condition. There are only 2 or 3 parts that we usually replace and they are cheap!
